How material enters the archive

A video, an audio recording, photographs, or a link to material already online.
The original is preserved
The file you send is kept unchanged as the archival master. A separate web copy is made for playback.
Metadata is inspected
Dates, devices, durations and, where present, location. Metadata only suggests — it never decides.
Concert matching
The archive proposes a likely concert. You confirm, choose another, or say it belongs to no concert.
Song matching
One song, several songs, a full concert, or unknown. Partial is fine.
Archival context
Recording position, device, source generation, notes. All optional.

Material also needs patient review: matching recordings to concerts and songs, checking photographs, improving metadata and researching uncertain details. There are no quotas; careful, occasional help is welcome.
Upload original material
Supported: JPEG, PNG and WebP photographs; MP3, M4A, OGG, WAV and FLAC audio; MP4, MOV, M4V and WebM video. You can select up to twenty photographs together. Audio and video are uploaded in batches of up to 100 recordings. Batch uploads run one at a time and can be retried individually if a connection fails.

A night that is not here at all
Everything above assumes the concert is already in the archive. It is built from setlist.fm, so nights setlist.fm never recorded are simply absent — and the people who were there are the only ones who can say so.
